Internship Length: 45 hrs

Essential Functions:

Supervise small group discussions.

Assist and scaffold with individual students during in class activities.

Will interact with students one-to-one or in small groups of 2-3 students.

Mentor and assist special needs students.

Correct student work using a key.

Conduct topic and material research to aid with lesson and activity planning.

Help facilitate learning activities.

Assist with lesson and activity planning and preparation. Collaborate with teacher to brainstorm planning ideas.

Collaborate with teachers on ideas and strategies to help struggling learners.

Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image.  Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:  Ability to follow instructions.  Must have strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player.  Must be detail-oriented. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.  Must be courteous and respectful.

Must be a high school student in good standing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

Love to work with all walks and levels of students .

Compassionate, patient, kind to all.

Business casual attire is required.

Must be self-motivated and willing to actively participate.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.
