Internship Title: Culinary and Hospitality Intern

Essential Functions:

·         Assist with restaurant needs and support staff- food preparation, running and expediting the food to guests.

·         Back of House –

o   Food preparation: Support chef as needed. This can include washing, peeling and chopping fruits and vegetables, etc. to prepare them for consumption.

o   Sanitizing: This includes sanitizing kitchen surfaces, such as counters and stovetops, to meet health regulations.

o   Cleanliness: This can include maintaining a clean and safe environment in the kitchen.

o   Adhering to safety protocols: This includes ensuring that all health department regulations are met.

·         Front of House –

o   Greet and seat guests. Answer phone calls from guests. Book reservations.

o   Clean tables and other surfaces. Set tables and ensure they're ready for the next guest.

·         Regular and consistent attendance at work.

·         Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

·         Must have good oral communication and listening skills.

·         Be willing to work extended hours and weekends when asked.

·         Must be a high school student in good standing.  Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible. Ability to follow instructions.  Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.  Must be courteous and respectful.

 

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
