Internship Title: Film & Digital Media Production Intern

This internship with Vortex Digital, Inc dba Infinity Photographic Productions will focus on professional video production techniques from scripting and filming to postproduction.

Beginning with state-of-the-art video editing using DaVinci Resolve, the intern will learn commercial production workflows for cataloging 4K digital media clips, organizing and editing. The intern will be responsible for organizing video clips and media beginning with the present year and working backwards.

The goal will be to prepare A and B roll clips for editing of various projects. If the intern shows the inclination and acumen for assembly, editing and adding sound to projects she will be given the tools and training to reach the goal of producing 1 minute ‘ highlight’ reels.

On the docket for the summer months is the participation in the production of a short film for SILT, the Sustainable Iowa Land Trust. This will allow the intern to participate on a professional production crew assisting with all aspects of the project from organization coordination to lighting, sound, camera operation, media backup, shooting of A and B roll in 4K using cameras on tripods, Steadicams and assisting with spotting for drone footage.

The shoot will take place on several farms in the SE Iowa area and afford the opportunity for ‘in the field’ production. If time allows, the intern will help to organize and edit clips in preparation for a rough cut, culminating in a final cut and release of this 3–5-minute production.

Predicated on the intern’s previous experience with video production and the strong desire for growth and learning, we anticipate that Adyson will have the needed preliminary understanding of the basics of professional production work.

This description does not list all of the duties the intern may be asked to perform by Vortex/ Infinity staff and her supervisor. The intern will be evaluated on performance of projects listed as well as interaction with team members and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with the candidate.
