Agronomy Center Assistant

Internship Length: 90 hrs
Office Hours: 7:00AM-5:00PM

Essential Functions:

Assist with soil sampling with GPS.
Assist with seed delivery.
Assist with planting research plots.
Training will be provided.
Most of the work is outdoors, depending on the weather.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Prompt and dependable, takes pride and ownership in work. Must be a self-starter, team player and able to perform routine tasks without being prompted.
Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible. Ability to follow instructions. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful.
It is a plus is the student has taken the Applicator Course through Kirkwood Community College.

This description does not list all duties. Intern may be asked to perform other duties by the staff or supervisor. Intern will be evaluated on performance of the projects listed as well as interaction with employees and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with each candidate.

Safety expectations, including harassment, should be reviewed with the host.
