Architect Intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 7:30-5:00, Mon-Thurs

PURPOSE:

Offer a high school student interested in the design field an opportunity to see what happens at an Architecture firm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Student will have opportunities to:

Shadow various roles at the firm

See how both interior design and architecture roles work during design process
Learn how marketing, Human Resources, and administrative roles support project work
View work products
Visit at least one job site, when appropriate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions, and be flexible with their schedule. Professional, courteous, and trustworthy conduct expected. Must have strong communication skills.
Preference given to students in or those who have completed the Kirkwood ACE Academy or have taken Project Lead the Way classes.
Business casual attire.

This description does not list all duties. Intern may be asked to perform other duties by the staff or supervisor. Intern will be evaluated on performance of the projects listed as well as interaction with employees and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with each candidate.

Safety expectations, including harassment, should be reviewed with the host.
