Overview:
Students receive hands-on experience through a High School Internship program at Kinze Manufacturing Inc. Our program provides an opportunity for students to gain exposure to the work environment and the culture of an innovative, growing agricultural manufacturing company. The program provides a structured learning environment by establishing mentoring relationships between students and skilled industry professionals within Engineering.
Requirements:
Interest in Mechanical Engineering with a strong desire to learn about the product development process and manufacturing
Strong communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Exposure to Solidworks or other 3D CAD software preferred
Creative problem solving
Mechanically inclined—familiar with common hand tools
Must be at least 16 years old and a high school Junior or Senior
Position Duties:
Tour the facility
Job shadow and mentor with Design and Test Engineers
Assist in developing designs of parts and assemblies as directed by mentor
Sketch, model and draw both in-house and outsourced parts as directed by mentor
Assist with product development tasks as directed by mentor
Analyze and determine whether design meets requirements
Assist with performing engineering tests on product
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing and office environment
Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
Standing and walking for extended periods of time
May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects
