Description of Role:

· Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

· Exercises confidentiality of patient and hospital information at all times. Must complete confidentiality paperwork before start of internship.

· Assist accounting manager and Business Office Staff to perform a wide variety of tasks.

· Data entry into computer.

· Scanning of documents.

· Reconcile various accounting documents and data, confirm their accuracy.

· Help coordinate accounts and invoices, and other related documents and processes.

· Interface with other departments to exchange information.

· Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image to staff and patients

Minimum Requirements:

· Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player, and enjoy working with the public without bias or prejudice. Must be detail-oriented, courteous and respectful. Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, proficiency in applied math, accuracy with numbers and reconciling data is recommended. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required.

· Experience/Education: Must be a high school student in good standing. General understanding of principles of bookkeeping and accounting recommended. Experience with computers and accounting software (MS Excel or other spreadsheet) preferred. Ability to use basic office equipment including telephone, copier, fax, computer is required.

· Attire: Business Casual attire is required

This description does not list all duties. Intern may be asked to perform other duties by the staff or supervisor. Intern will be evaluated on performance of the projects listed as well as interaction with employees and clients. On-site hours will be negotiated with each candidate.
