Internship Length: 45 hrs

The Nursing Assistant Intern, under general supervision of staff, will have the opportunity to learn more about a career in healthcare through this experience.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Use and model appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision, and beliefs and in accordance with operation procedures and policies.
  • Welcome, value and nurture people of all backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, as well as support and promote an environment that accepts differences.
  • Change patient linen for each patient and properly dispose of used linens in the laundry chute.
  • Assist with daily patient functions such as preparing rooms.
  • Maintain a professional manner in your actions and appearance.
  • Follow directions and have an eagerness to learn.
  • Keep work areas neat, and maintain a professional appearance

 

Minimum Requirements:

 Skills/Knowledge: Must have the ability to follow instructions, strong organizational and communication skills, and be courteous and respectful.  Intern must enjoy working with others free of bias, self-motivated, professional, and trustworthy.  Confidential conduct is required.  Must be nurturing, warm, and compassionate when dealing with patients and coworkers.

 Experience/Education: Must be a high school student in good standing, and interested in pursuing healthcare as a career after high school. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.

 Attire: Business casual or scrubs.  Dress pants and a conservative, professional top.  Wear closed-toed, comfortable shoes.

 General Physical Activities with or without Reasonable Accommodation: Frequent reaching, walking and lifting up to 30lbs. Occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, standing, grasping, pulling, and pushing and lifting over 30 lbs.

 

 THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

 

 SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
