Classroom Assistant intern

Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-5

Essential Functions:

Work with kindergarten children in small groups (2-3) or one on one.
Assist students in centers as directed by lead teacher.
Play games that will reinforce skills taught in the classroom for reading or math.
Listen to children read and help with their writing.
Help keep work areas neat and organized to promote positive image. Use appropriate behavior in keeping with the mission, vision and beliefs and in accordance with operating procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge: Ability to follow instructions. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, be a team player. Must be detail-oriented. Professional and trustworthy conduct is required. Must be courteous and respectful. Demonstrate a patient and loving attitude toward young children. Interest in working with young children. Follow the instruction of the classroom teacher. Energetic and flexible.
Must be a high school student in good standing. Must be poised, mature and possess a positive attitude while being flexible.
Business casual attire is required.
