Internship Length: 45 hrs
Office Hours: 8-4

Essential Functions:

Properly assist staff Medical Assistant as directed.
Offer caring assistance to residents in a patient and friendly manner according to the philosophy and policy of the organization.
Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area.
Provide residents with any treatment as part of their individual service plan as directed by the staff nurse and/or supervising staff member.
Promote and protect the resident’s safe, prompt and confidential treatment as directed by the staff nurse and/or supervising staff member.
Carry out all duties properly and effectively as assigned by the staff nurse and/or supervisor.

Essential Requirements:

Demonstrated desire and comfort in working with older adults.
Experience in working with older adults is helpful.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Friendly, caring and patient disposition.
Ability to successfully complete orientation and basic training in the areas you will be working in.
Must demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and confidentiality with patient information.
May be asked to provide information for a background check and successfully pass a TB screen.

THIS DESCRIPTION DOES NOT LIST ALL DUTIES. INTERN MAY BE ASKED TO PERFORM OTHER DUTIES BY THE STAFF OR SUPERVISOR. INTERN WILL BE EVALUATED ON PERFORMANCE OF THE PROJECTS LISTED AS WELL AS INTERACTION WITH EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. ON-SITE HOURS WILL BE NEGOTIATED WITH EACH CANDIDATE.

SAFETY EXPECTATIONS, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, SHOULD BE REVIEWED WITH THE HOST.
